June Visiting Teaching Message

Renewing Covenants Through The Sacrament

"When we are baptized, we take upon ourselves the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Taking upon us His name is one of the most significant experiences we have in life. . . .
"Each week in sacrament meeting we promise to remember the atoning sacrifice of our Savior as we renew our baptismal covenant. We promise to do as the Savior did—to be obedient to the Father and always keep His commandments. The blessing we receive in return is to always have His Spirit to be with us."

Until We Meet Again

Quotes from RS Lesson from 5/23

From General Conference talk by Elder Bradley D. Foster, “Mother Told Me,” we learn that "perhaps the reason we respond so universally to our mothers’ love is because it typifies the love of our Savior. As President Joseph F. Smith said, “The love of a true mother comes nearer [to] being like the love of God than any other kind of love”

We are Eight Cow women! We can guide our children (or others we come in contact with) with the help of our Savior. He is supporting us in this important call. You are not alone.

Relief Society Lesson 5/16/10

Prophets of God

"We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet" How thankful we ought to be, how thankful we are, for a prophet to counsel us in words of divine wisdom as we walk our paths in these complex and difficult times. We have a prophet living on the earth today. President Monson is the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has the right to revelation for the entire Church. He has the authority to direct the entire Church and kingdom of God on earth. No person except President Monson can receive God's will for the entire membership of the Church.

President Monson said " The sweetest experience I know in life is to feel a prompting and act upon it and later find out that it was the fulfillment of someone's prayer or someone's need. And I always want the Lord to Know that if He needs an errand run, Tom Monson will run that errand for him."

We would do well today to heed the words spoken anciently by Jehoshaphat: "Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper." (2 Chr. 20:20)

Relief Society Lesson 5/2/10

"Single Working Mom? & Education"

.Whether you are a single working mom, divorced, widowed or married, a good educational foundation can raise your standard of living, your self -esteem, and your children's expectations for themselves. Most universities now recognize and try to address the special needs of "nontraditional" students by adapting curriculum, schedules, scholarships, and services. There are many more options in obtaining an education today. Explore the opportunities of Vocational Training, Internet Programs, Community Colleges and Universities.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf stated:

For members of the Church, education is not merely a good idea--it's a commandment. We are to learn "of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, thins which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad." If formal education is not available, do not all that to prevent you from acquiring all the knowledge you can. Under such circumstances, the best books, in a sense can become your "university"--a class room that is always open and admits all who apply.
